In a big step of relief for NRIs and foreign visitors the finance Ministry on Friday (May 8) announced that those who have been facing difficulty with the status of their residency in India under section 6 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 due to the ongoing lockdown and suspension of international flights owing to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). On the other hand, CBDT defers requirement of registration of charitable, religious trusts by 4 months till Oct 1 .
