Vikram BapatSenior Advisor
Vikram Bapat has over 30 years of experience in the areas of corporate and international
taxation, Special Economic Zones (SEZ), finance management functions, leadership assessments and culture shaping.
Vikram was a tax partner with PwC and Grant Thornton and served with KPMG and other boutique tax firms in India for an aggregate period of almost 23 years. He has also worked with the Tata Group, Thermax and Venky’s group before stepping into the consulting arena thus experiencing both sides of the table.
As the SEZ practice leader at PwC between 2008 and 2012, Vikram led several critical client engagements and thought leadership initiatives. He was a member of the working group to integrate MSMEs and SEZs set up by the International School of Business, chaired by the former Commerce Secretary, Mr. G. K. Pillai. Vikram was privileged to be invited by the Latin American Free Zone Conference held in Punta Cana, The Dominican Republic in 2010, to speak on India’s Special Economic Zone regime and was provided the honor of an audience with the then Hon’ble President of The Dominican Republic, H.E. E Fernandez.
Vikram has been an active faculty and guest speaker at several institutions of repute including IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad and Symbiosis Pune from time to time. He is also a faculty for the International Tax Diploma program conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has written several articles published in the media on Tax and SEZ matters.
Vikram is a history buff, an avid trekker, ferroequinologist and is a strong supporter of climate change initiatives and environment conservation.
