Amita is a Director in the Direct Taxes practice of the Firm in Bengaluru. Prior to her current role, Amita was associated with BMR & Associates LLP and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP with an overall experience of more than 12 years in handling corporate tax and regulatory matters.

Amita has extensively worked with and advised clients (including Fortune 500 companies) spanning Information Technology, Consumer, Ecommerce, Healthcare and Real Estate sectors with a work profile encompassing advisory on corporate taxes, international taxes, transaction taxes and on regulatory matters, assistance in compliance and litigation support. Key assignments handled by Amita include supporting clients in Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP) applications before the foreign and Indian Competent Authorities (CA), engaging in impact analysis of risk of Permanent Establishment (PE) and Place of Effective Management (POEM) for foreign companies, advisory on structuring/ re-structuring the capital and corporate structures of large group companies, working with legal counsels in representing before various tax and regulatory appellate forums.

In addition, Amita is equipped with knowledge and experience in transfer pricing and regulatory laws including FEMA, Companies Act, Labour laws etc. Amita has extensively contributed to articles on various tax and regulatory matters in business dailies and journals.
