Amit Agarwal
Amit Agarwal is a Director with the firm’s M&A and Transfer Pricing practice in India. He has over 15 years of experience in advising on complex transactions of M&A, corporate structuring, acquisitions and specializes in tax restructuring, financial restructuring, divestment, spin-offs and cash repatriation planning including promoter wealth optimization. He also has significant experience in advising clients on multitude of transfer pricing issues including documentation and 3 tier documentation. He is also a certified valuer and has advised on multitude complex valuations of equity shares and business.
Prior to Nangia & Co. LLP, Amit was associated in senior positions with various firms including BMR Advisors (Now KPMG), Deloitte, Price Water House Coopers
He has served several multi-national and domestic clients in a cross-section of industries on diverse matters relating to entry strategy, acquisitions, business consolidations, re-alignment and exit structures, IP structuring, migration, business restructuring, Intra-group cost allocations and implementation of global transfer pricing policies, profit attribution analysis, Fin 48 analysis, global allocation mechanism, complex transfer pricing litigation at all levels of CIT / ITAT and High Court.
Amit has worked on fiscal and regulatory matters and involved with various multinational and domestic corporations across a range of industries. He has advised clients on a variety of complex transactions which involve varyingly, issues relating to the establishment, expansion, restructuring and divestment of businesses in India.
Amit has co-authored a book on transfer pricing published by Lexis Nexis and has written numerous articles on complex issues surrounding transfer pricing and M&A structuring.
He is an active speaker at various tax forums and conferences (PHDCCI, ASSOCHAM, IFA etc). He has also contributed views and articles on tax structuring, and transfer pricing matters in leading financial dailies like Economic Times, Financial Express, etc. and various tax journals like Bloomberg BNA, International Tax Review, Taxmann, etc.
