Arindam Ghosh
Arindam has spent three decades in the power sector, with a background in reform, regulatory, strategic planning, policy formulation, utility modernization, solution implementations and modern energy systems in about ten countries and advised most of the States in India in Power sector reform projects.
Arindam has worked extensively with Government, consumer groups, academicians and multilateral funding institutions on various sectoral reforms and implementation. He has advised and led some of the foremost utility-driven power sector reforms processes and brings in extensive experience in large IT solution implementation, program management and stakeholder coordination. He has advised multiple Governments Digitization and Customer enhancement experiences; his core strength lies in efficiency improvement through technological interventions and designing innovative solutions.
He started his career as a Utility Engineer in 1993 then later moved consultancy and worked for firms like PwC, Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and KPMG. He had worked in all the key power sector reforms projects in India, starting form Odisha and then he was involved in all the stages of Andhra Pradesh power sector reform, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. He was heading KPMG’s Forensic unit of Bahrain and Qatar from 2011 to 2014.
Arindam brings deep experience of working with donor institutions and development banks including ADB, USAID, DFID, GIZ, The World Bank, kfW, etc. He assisted large Power Utilities in the region in selecting the ERP solution including CRM and Billing solution. Later, assisted these utilities to work with the implementation partner to implement the selected ERP and Billing solution. The roles include developing MIS / Dash boards for top management, capacity building, business process improvement, etc. He assisted several Public and Private sector organizations in developing their strategy in reducing losses and efficiency improvement.
Arindam was also involved in some of the marquee Forensic investigation as well Dispute resolution projects in India and in Bahrain. As the Program Director, he led a team of consultants in supporting GoI’s flagship distribution reforms scheme UDAY assisted the Secretary, Joint Secy and Director Distribution in reviewing the performance monitoring of more than 66 power distribution utilities in India.
