Sachin Garg
Sachin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003 with an all India Rank. Sachin possesses 17 years of extensive professional experience in handling corporate and international tax matters of domestic and multi-national enterprises. He has been involved in advising clients on India entry strategy: reviewing alternate business models for doing business in India, obtaining approvals from regulatory authorities, conducting tax reviews, business reorganizations, and evaluation of tax planning opportunities.
He has served several clients in a cross-section of industries on complex issues under Indian domestic tax law as well as interpretation of tax treaties including characterization of income, existence of Permanent Establishment (PE), and attribution of profits to the PE. He has also assisted various clients in tax cost modelling in relation to their proposed Indian operations and to submit bids for projects in India.
His experience also encompasses handling a number of tax controversy matters and representing clients through normal appellate process and also alternate dispute resolution mechanism such as Mutual Agreement Procedure and Income Tax Settlement Commission. He has also briefed various Senior Counsels in High Court and Supreme Court.
Prior to joining Nangia Andersen India Pvt. Ltd., he worked with PwC and EY in their Tax and Regulatory Services practice.
